Reviews
Gaggia has a reputation for solid construction despite coffee makers for pampered. This machine is a new generation of Gaggia, which are, of course, the attempt to remove the reputation of solidity. The machine - coffee - has three iterations: the Pure (black plastic cheap one single), color (one color, red, costs more than the Pure course, because of the color), and the box (which can be calibrated to deliver a fixed quantity of liquid per button press, which costs even more. All units have the same mechanism - Stainless steel boiler, about 3.5 ounces in size, a group of beer-coated brass, and (note well) a non-pressurized 58 millimeters "commercial button " portafilter. r rRight out of the box, the coffee seems cheap and flimsy. No metal in sight, and the machine (in my case the jar) looks like a big ugly piece of plastic. The control of steam Feels like a child 's toy and is so poorly mounted on the rod that feels like you could wring it out of the water reservoir is a skimpy 42 ounces, and the board of alleged warming is ugly white plastic and produces remarkably little heat. This is by far the ugliest player in my kitchen and is also among the most expensive. More importantly, the machine weighs only 10 pounds, which is tightening the portafilter a task as you have to pin down the machine to keep it from tipping over or just being pushed around the counter. r rthe Mechanicals inside seems to be solid, and the portafilter is strong and helpful. The boiler seems willing enough, although very small, and the steam wand is excellent. The function of dose administration in my model appears essentially useless, as my beer worked better results with manual operation, and it adds useless features about $ 50 for the price of the basic model . cup Eyeball it 's fluid level and save $ 50 No three-way valve, but the puck filter is fairly dry and easily emptied. r RNOW the real problem - if you plan to use your own beans to this , you need a grinder for $ 300 Gaggia. That 's it, end of story. "My $ 90 Capresso Infinity After much experimentation with grinding machines and was unable to do anything other than mud due to non-pressurized portafilter. I called the seller up and your service staff informed me (in a nice and polite) that Infinity simply couldn 't produce a fine grind. Baratza Even the popular (in U.S. $ 100 - $ 200 range) can 't produce a "Gaggia grind" without being removed and modified by User. (This is true - check the site Baratza FAQs) consistent. Upshot: nothing less than a $ 300 grinder can produce coffee at home for this machine. r rthe salesman told me to try to pre-ground coffee, and certainly commercially ground coffee I tried was much, much better, but that means dealing with a short shelf life and keep the coffee an airtight container in the freezer.Even after trying it, I thought the pre-earth nice crema produced only when very fresh, like 1-2 days, and usually not after he left the congelador.Se you don 't mind running into a local store of a small dose of commercially ground coffee every day, this is your machine. Or you can buy a mill that costs as much or more than the Gaggia makes your machine. R rAnyway , a disappointment for me here was not necessarily that the machine has an extensive "special needs ". If it was elegant and solidly made, I would still give him a pass, though perhaps not for me, personally, like buying $ 600 worth of equipment home espresso is beyond my budget. However, even if we grind the demanding requirements, the weakness of the machine and structure of ugly plastic is simply unacceptable in the price point of $ 250 - $ 300. A Saeco aroma in the same price range is made of metal, has a large boiler steel, weighs 30% more, and uses a pressurized portafilter that works very well with less finely ground. R rthe Gaggia has a better reputation for durability, but the new look Gaggia espresso as they are made on assembly lines that Saeco 's (the companies are held in common) with the difference being the main gateway filters, so I have little reason to suppose that this Eyesore cheap plastic will prove more durable than a comparable Saeco. The flavor is much easier to use, does not need a mill that costs as much as he does, IMO is more attractive, and is the same price. I don 't know why anyone would buy one of these Gaggia. Maybe if you have a grinder face, and your old coffee maker died, and you need a cheap substitute? Whatever. I am underwhelmed ... ..
I bought this machine from Whole Latte Love and I am very disappointed. It was achieved after 30 days. Spontaneously began to pump, pump dry itself out and pumping. So far its taken Total Latte Love 2 months for repair and I still do not have it. RITS team weak light, with some odd characteristics. Why is the on / off in the rear where you can not reach him. The leaking water from the reservoir, and fell steam r RI DONT recommend the machine or Wholelattelove.com they dont answer emails, do not seem to care about customer service.
I bought this from Amazon in January and found it makes good espresso machine for a relatively small and light weight. I also have a sturdier Sirena and is much more expensive, but I think the Gaggia makes better espresso. I originally gave this product a lower rating because the lights do not work after a few uses and I was frustrated because I was not 't clear how to troubleshoot the machine from the Gaggia website. Thanks to Google, I found the customer service number in the U.S.. They called me back promptly and were very helpful. They were able to resolve the problem with me on the phone with a simple screwdriver in about 5 minutes. Really know much about the machine and I 'need to send back and wait for 5 weeks! Despite the issue with the lights, I think the machine has been well worth it.
